Hoboken Government

Now that the Hoboken Mayoral election is finally behind us, we can get back to monitoring Hoboken Government.

Some important website changes are in progress.  This site will be monitoring all aspects of Hoboken government and will include the following areas;

ELECTED OFFICIALS:

  • Hudson County Freeholder - District 5 - Hoboken
  • Hoboken Mayor
  • Hoboken City Council

APPOINTED AND STATUTORY OFFICIALS:

  • All "appointed" Hoboken City Officials
  • All "statutory" Hoboken City - Licensed employees

Congradulations to Mayor Dawn Zimmer.

Earlier this afternoon, Hoboken's Acting Mayor Dawn Zimmer was sworn in as Mayor.  I suspect that there may be changes in "appointed" staff.  As soon as the dust settles, the names, titles, and bios will be completed.

I also had a conversation with HOBOKEN's Hudson County Freeholder Anthony Romano earlier tonight.  I inquired about the status of the Hudson County budget.

Many Hoboken residents have been confused when it comes to the Hudson County budget and Hoboken Municipal budget.  The Hudson County budget year is from Jaruary 1 to December 31, while Hoboken's budget year is from July 1 to June 30.

I am confident that a copy of the proposed Hudson County 2010 budget will be available online very shortly.

As one of the founding members of People for Open Government, I look forward to working with Freeholder Anthony Romano in bringing "good government" initatives to Hudson County Government.

Stay tuned......
